I cook this frequently and it always goes over well. A tasty way to eat broccoli.
Ingredients
- 1 pound broccoli flowerets
- 1 tsp dry sherry (or vermouth)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 2 TBL light olive oil (or corn oil)
Directions
Mix sherry, broth, and sugar in small bowl. Set aside.
Heat up oil in skillet (or wok) on medium for about a minute. Stir in
garlic until fragrant, about 5 seconds then remove and add to small bowl
mixture.
Turn up heat to medium-high and stir-fry broccoli about 1 minute. Reduce
heat to medium-low and add mixture. Cover and cook until liquid is
almost gone, about 30 minutes. Stir once after 15 minutes.
Doug's Notes:
I've cooked the broccoli stems after chopping them into 1 inch squares.
